Introducing Tender Mercy (Zechariah’s Song): A Song For Advent

This song has appeared here before, but I am finally releasing the mastered studio version to the public… The story surrounding the song is basically this: my Pastor casually opined in a sermon: “Mary gets a ton of songs about her. Why doesn’t Zechariah get his own song?” I obliged. Essentially, the song is the […]

No Jewish Evangelism? Or, Why “Real” Jews do not try and convert others

A friend recently posted her frustration at a Messianic Jew who issued a press release announcing that his son was missing. She viewed this as “disgusting” and as an attempt to proselytize to Jewish people, adding: “Real Jews do not try to convert others. Messianics are a different story. They aren’t Jews, but they still […]

When it comes to religion, Christianity is as liberal as it gets

When it comes to religion, Christianity is as liberal as it gets

No, I am not talking politically. Just liberally. From a liberal perspective, isn’t a religion that is open to all, that is easy to become a part of, and that is easy to leave behind about as liberal as it gets? I was reminded of this thought as I was sitting behind two orthodox Jewish […]

Christian Evangelism Gone Bad: Jesus knows best, we should know better, we should love better

Christian Evangelism Gone Bad: Jesus knows best, we should know better, we should love better

There’s a scene in the great action movie “Die Hard With A Vengeance” where our hero John McClane is forced to wear an “I Hate N*ggers” sign around his body, in the middle of Harlem, so as to prevent massive casualties via a bomb set to explode somewhere in New York City. The director didn’t […]

New song – Trust in the Lord

New song – Trust in the Lord

Sharefaith.com is having a contest asking folks to write a song based on Proverbs 3:5-6. Thanks to some young men and women at LIFEhouse, we turned the song into a music video. Thanks to Dahn B for his great background vocals and post production/mixing!

To Judge or not to Judge: Which is God’s commandment?

To Judge or not to Judge: Which is God’s commandment?

How do we reconcile the apparent “opposition” of Jesus’ words of not judging others until the plank is out of our eye (Matthew 7:1-5 or so) and “making a righteous judgment” (John 7:24)? Put another way, how can we make a “righteous” judgment when Jesus COMMANDS us not to judge? Jesus COMMANDS us: “Matthew 7:1 […]

Why does Santa hate Jewish kids?

Why does Santa hate Jewish kids?

I saw this tongue-in-cheek question posted by one of my Jewish Facebook friends, and it inspired these thoughts… “Why does Santa hate Jewish kids?” I grew up a secular Jew, son of a Jewish Mom and agnostic Dad (who was an altar boy at an Anglican church as a kid). We celebrated Christmas every year, […]

“Is The Christian Right’s Influence Over?” asks CNN

I just checked out the main page of CNN and saw this headline, following the re-election of Barack Obama – “Is the Christian Right’s influence over?” I have not clicked the link, but I have provided it for you… I have not clicked the link because I am pretty sure that it ONLY refers to […]

How serious is Jesus about blessing our enemies?

How serious is Jesus about blessing our enemies?

Very! In fact, just before Jesus reveals his betrayer, Jesus washes the betrayer’s feet! John 13:8-18 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!” Jesus […]

In May, 2005, Rob was a secular, Jewish, thirty-something, Los Angeles, personal injury attorney whose idea of getting up early on a Sunday was getting up for the third quarter of the first televised, NFL games.

Thirsting on the idea of playing in a band for the first time in a decade, Rob finally accepted his neighbor's request to get up at seven-in-the-morning on Sundays in order to participate.

Eleven months later, his world was turned upside down by Jesus. Instantly, he began leading songs on the worship team and was the worship leader from 2010-2022.

Rob is now the worship leader at Calvary Chapel Malibu. He released his fifth album “The Author of My Story” on December 15, 2023, available on all of your favorite streaming platforms… and he is preparing to launch a new Christian teaching podcast called “Christ Supremacist.”
